STORY

The Yirgacheffee Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union is made up of 28 Cooperative Unions with over 38,000 farmers supporting 300,000 family members located in Gedeo, an area found in the highlands of the Sidamo region of Southern Ethiopia.  The cooperatives produce coffee on 62,000 Hectares of land with over 15,500 tons of annual production.  They are also all Organic, Fair Trade, and Rainforest Alliaance certified by multiple international organizations ensuring that their coffee is cultivated in an ethically and sustainable manner.
